Preschool education: when and how?

Preschool education at our educational institution is purposefully organized to create favorable conditions for children to grow up fully, learn about the world and enjoy the educational process. Preschool education is provided to children from 1.5 to 5 years old.

Education takes place through play, experience, and everyday situations, so children naturally develop linguistic, cognitive, social, and emotional abilities, form their first learning skills, and develop a positive attitude toward education.

The education of "Katinos dieneliai" is based on the principles of contextual education. Contextual education allows each child to learn at their own pace, experience success, strengthen self-confidence, develop independence, communication and cooperation skills, and make learning interesting, meaningful and joyful.

Educational environment

Our institution places great emphasis on a safe and supportive environment where every child feels accepted, heard and valued. Educators encourage children's curiosity, creativity and independence, helping them learn to cooperate, solve everyday situations, express feelings and gain self-confidence, incorporating the Kimochi emotional intelligence program into the educational process.

Bilingual education

Activities are conducted throughout the day by both Lithuanian and English language teachers, so language skills are developed naturally through everyday situations, games, stories, songs, creative activities and experiential activities. Such a bilingual environment encourages children's ability to listen, understand and actively use both languages, expands vocabulary, develops linguistic expression, encourages curiosity and intercultural understanding.

Continuity of education

Preschool education at our institution forms a solid foundation for the further educational path - preschool education and successful school life. In order to ensure the continuity of education, we create a united community based on common values and traditions.

Individual monitoring of the child's progress and feedback to parents

Community is one of the most important values in our institution, therefore we actively involve parents (guardians) in the child's educational process, its planning, project activities and school holidays. We believe that an ongoing partnership between the family and the school helps the child grow consistently and confidently.

We provide feedback to parents every day, depending on the need and situation.
Through the Eliis diary, parents can get acquainted with:

  • class day photos,
  • a brief description of the day,
  • Overview of activities that took place.

Three times a year, teachers provide detailed assessments of children's progress in the Eliis system, supplemented with comments and individual recommendations.
After each assessment, we invite families to individual interviews, during which:

  • we discuss the child's progress and strengths,
  • we talk about challenges,
  • together with the family we set further educational goals,
  • We discuss how we will achieve them through cooperation.

Such consistent and open dialogue ensures that each child's educational path is clear, focused, and individual.

Preschool teachers

Ikimokyklinėje grupėje dirba trys arba du mokytojai, priklausomai nuo vaikų skaičiaus:

  • two or one Lithuanian-speaking teacher,
  • One English-speaking teacher working in the classroom all day long, creating conditions for children to naturally hear and use both languages throughout the day.

Children also participate in dance and music activities led by subject teachers.
If necessary, families and the teaching team are consulted by school specialists: a speech therapist, psychologist, special educator, and social worker.

Preschooler's Day

A preschooler's day is structured, yet flexible and full of meaningful activities.
Parents can track their children's day by:

  • daily schedule,
  • detailed weekly plan in the Eliis system.

Every day, children participate in:

  • in the morning circle,
  • in two educational activities,
  • in the evening circle.

In addition, children go on excursions, spend time outdoors, play, read, conduct experiments and explore, developing both academic and social skills.
